Grief Resources

The death of a family member, friend, or other significant person is a life-altering loss for many. We know that community and connection can lessen the feelings of isolation that can come with grief.


The most important thing you can do for a grieving person is to listen. We let the person know that we are here to hold space for their unique journey in processing their loss through listening. There is no quick fix for grief…it must be walked through, but there is great comfort in having a companion on your journey to healing. If you are supporting a grieving person – thank you for being a grief friend! If you want to find other ways to support someone that is bereaved the websites below may be helpful. These national organizations have resources, information and national directories of bereavement service providers.

National Alliance of Grieving Children

The National Alliance for Grieving Children (NAGC) is a nonprofit organization that raises awareness about the needs of children and teens who are grieving a death and provides education and resources for anyone who supports them.

TAPS

TAPS provides comfort, care and resources to all those grieving the death of a military loved one.

ADEC

The Association for Death Education and Counseling (ADEC) exists to enhance the ability of professionals to meet the needs of those with whom they work in death education and grief counseling.

Compassionate Friends

The Compassionate Friends is a self-help organization offering friendship, understanding, and hope to bereaved families that have experienced the death of a child.
